KENANSVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA – James Sprunt Community College will welcome its sixth President on Monday, April 29, 2019. Dr. Jay Carraway, vice president of continuing education at Lenior Community College, will begin his presidency at the college, succeeding Dr. Lawrence Rouse who left in August to lead Pitt Community College.
“It’s great to be at James Sprunt,” said Dr. Carraway, during Spring Convocation.”I have high expectations for this institution, I have high expectations for myself, and I have high expectations for the faculty and staff.”
Dr. Kenneth Boham, who has served as interim President in the transition and search for a new President, will remain at the college until Tuesday, April 30, 2019.
“As I leave James Sprunt, I know that this college will be in good hands,” said Dr. Boham. “The future looks very bright for James Sprunt Community College, Duplin County, and Eastern North Carolina. The best is yet to come.”
